Fewer
Flu Shots Available Means Staying Healthy This Year

In case you have not heard, there is a flu vaccination shortage this year.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. will not be getting
vaccines from one of the major suppliers, seriously limiting its availability
to the public. Perhaps the same will be true for Canada.
The flu is more severe than the common cold and can even cause death in
the elderly and in people with chronic illnesses. It is caused by a virus
spread from an infected person and is hard to vaccinate against given the
change of virus from year to year, making it difficult against which to
develop a fool proof vaccine.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the flu shot
this year for these people: Everyone 50 years of age or older, nursing homes
residents, people with weakened immune systems, on long term treatment with
steroids or cancer treatment, and health-care workers or anyone who comes
in close contact with people at risk of having the flu. Most areas can call
their County Health Departments to find out where the vaccines will be offered.
Symptoms come on suddenly with muscle aches and pains, sore throat and cough,
chills and fever, headache and exhaustion. It can keep you in bed for three
days, but feeling tired for up to three weeks. It is time
now, to begin to strengthen our health before cases of the flu begin to
increase. Our best defense is a healthy immune system and the prevention
of all illness this time of year. The health benefits from ProTec are almost
too numerous to list; it is definitely our product-of-choice now.
Aloe, an ingredient in ProTec, contains a substance called acemannan, which
has shown to exhibit immune-stimulating activity and has been used clinically
for the self-treatment of another virus, HIV.
By strengthening blood vessels with grape seed extract, found in ProTec,
we can prevent many illnesses and be helpful in correcting many as well
such as macular degeneration, diabetic neuropathy, poor night vision, varicose
veins, and inflammation. No adverse reactions have been reported, but since
it can be a blood thinner, it may increase the action of Warfarin. Its antioxidant
content has shown to prevent and treat cardiovascular conditions and cancer
prevention, too.
Health experts are emphasizing, that especially this year, draw upon every
resource we have available to stay well: Keep your hands washed, sneeze
into a Kleenex, get rest, and “keep your immune system strong with herbs,
vitamins, and other supplements.”
And aren’t we lucky that we have just such an herbal formula that will fit
the bill!
